The candle-lighting service took place at the prayer plaza. The Ambassador lit the seventh Chanukah candle along with his son, and then said a personal prayer near the Western Wall stones. The director of the Foundation showed the Ambassador fascinating findings discovered near the Western Wall that are evidence of the Jewish nation’s connection to its capital, Jerusalem.

We were privileged to have with us this evening the family of Binyamin Wurtzburger z”l who survived the horrors of the Holocaust and later in life, came to work at the Kotel with infinite dedication. Binyamin passed away about a month ago at the age of 95, but his courageous spirit lives on with us.
