As part of his official visit to Israel, Rwanda’s foreign minister, Mr. Olivier Nduhungirehe, visited the Western Wall for a tour and prayer.
During the visit, the minister received an overview of the Western Wall’s thousands of years of history and its enduring significance to the Jewish people as a place of prayer, hope, and longing throughout the generations.
The foreign minister offered a personal prayer, placed a note between the stones of the Western Wall, and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the State of Israel, for the well-being of the Jewish people, for peace in the Middle East, and for all humanity. He also toured the Western Wall Tunnels.
At the conclusion of his visit, the minister signed the guest book, writing: “On behalf of the government and the people of Rwanda, I wish to express my joy and honor at visiting the Western Wall, a historic site of prayer. I prayed for peace and prosperity for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. I prayed for peace in the Middle East and for all humanity.”
