For the first time since assuming his position, and as part of his official visit to Israel, India’s minister of commerce, Mr. Piyush Goyal, arrived together with Israel’s minister of economy, Mr. Nir Barkat, for a visit and prayer at the Western Wall.
He was greeted by the rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who explained to him the sanctity of the site and its profound significance to the Jewish people throughout the generations as a place of prayer, hope, and unity.
During the visit, Rabbi Rabinowitz thanked the Indian minister of commerce for expanding free trade and advancing economic development between Israel and India, and blessed him with success in his role.
