This morning, in preparation for the central Selichot prayers and the upcoming Tishrei holidays, a routine inspection was carried out to check the condition of the Western Wall’s stones.
This comprehensive and thorough inspection is regularly conducted twice a year, before Passover and Rosh Hashanah, to ensure the safety of the thousands of worshippers who visit the Western Wall Plaza.
The inspection is carried out by a team led by engineers under the rabbinical supervision of the rabbi of the Western Wall, in collaboration with the Israel Antiquities Authority. The team examines each stone, checking its stability and maintenance level, with continuous and systematic monitoring that is updated and addressed from inspection to inspection.
This is an opportunity to invite the entire Jewish nation to participate in the moving Selichot gatherings at the Western Wall, visit the Western Wall Tunnels, and take part in emotional Selichot tours.
