As part of her solidarity visit to Israel, Vice President of Ecuador, Ms. Veronica Abad Rojas, arrived for prayer and a tour at the Western Wall. The Deputy President was welcomed by the Western Wall Rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, who explained to her the significance of the site to the Jewish people and its historical importance across generations.
During the visit, she prayed alongside the stones of the Western Wall, toured the Western Wall Tunnels, and signed the guestbook, She also lit a candle in memory of those killed in the Iron Swords war.
At the end of the visit, the Deputy President said, “I learned a lot about the history of Jerusalem and the impact that Jerusalem has on the entire world. I made this journey to show the peace that exists between the walls of Jerusalem. Peace that is constantly fought for here, and in these challenging times, Israel continues to stand firmly in its faith.”
