The Prime Minister of Poland, Mrs. Beata Szyd?o, visited the Western Wall Plaza. While there, the Prime Minister heard an explanation from the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, on the significance and holiness of the site to the Jewish nation. After this, she entered the womens section where she recited a prayer and placed a note between the stones of the Western Wall.
At the end of her visit, the Prime Minister said that she feels divine inspiration at the site. She said that this site serves as a place of prayer for Jews and non-Jews. I prayed here and felt the history of your nation here. It is a great honor for me to come here and pray.
The Rabbi of the Western Wall, whose family came from Poland, told her that his grandmother who is very ill and survived the Auschwitz concentration camp could not participate in the visit. But he was sure that she never dreamed that the day would come when the Prime Minister of Poland would come to the Western Wall to pray. Undoubtedly that feeling would be shared by all the survivors of the Holocaust who were privileged to come here as well as others who were murdered for their faith.
