Senior Honduran Security Officials Visit the Western Wall: “Despite the distance, our people share common values and the same Lord.”
A senior delegation from the Honduran security establishment, currently visiting Israel on an official visit, arrived this morning (Wednesday) for a solidarity visit and prayer at the Western Wall Plaza.
The delegation was headed by Honduran Minister of Defense Enrique Rodríguez Burchard, accompanied by the Minister of Security and the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Honduran Armed Forces.
The delegation was welcomed by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Sites, who explained the history of the Western Wall and its significance to the Jewish people throughout the generations. He thanked the delegation members for their support of the State of Israel and the Jewish people, as well as for the close cooperation between the two countries in a range of fields.
The Western Wall rabbi and the delegation members joined together in a special prayer for the peace and security of both nations and for the continued friendship between their peoples. The delegation members then placed personal notes between the stones of the Western Wall.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation members signed the guest book. The Honduran Minister of Defense wrote:
“Thank you for having us here today. Despite the distance, our people share common values and the same Lord. God bless Israel! God bless Honduras!”
