President of Romania visited the Western Wall

Romanian President, Klaus Werner Iohannis, visited the Western Wall last night with his wife, Carmen Johannis. During his visit he prayed at the Wall, placed a note between the stones, and toured the Western Wall Tunnels. The President commented that his visit to the Wailing Wall was truly a unique experience -“I was very moved by the stories I’ve heard about this special place. My thoughts are with your people and your country. Our friendship is strong and deep.” Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, presented Mr. Iohannis with a personalized copy of The Western Wall Tunnels book as an expression of the Jewish peoples’ appreciation of his friendship and support.
