Japan’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, visited the Western Wall Plaza and was greeted by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, and by Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.
Minister Motegi noted that he had visited the Western Wall several years ago but asked to visit again as part of his current visit to Israel.
Prayers to the Western Wall from 140 countries: “For My House shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”
Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, in keeping with tradition: Prayer notes placed between the stones of the Western Wall over the past six months have been removed and transferred for ritual burial.
