The Rabbi of the Western Wall met with the American emissary in Jerusalem this evening.

Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, met this evening in Jerusalem with Senior Advisor to the U.S. President, Jared Kushner. The Rabbi thanked Mr. Kushner for his tremendous contribution under President Donald Trump for the benefit of the State of Israel, Jerusalem, and recognizing it as the eternal capital of the Jewish nation.
Also present were Israel’s National Security Advisor, Meir Ben-Shabbat, and the Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mordechai (Suli) Eliav. The Rabbi gave Kushner an album of the Western Wall Tunnels and an ancient earthenware vessel and said, “This is incontrovertible proof of the connection between the Jewish nation and Jerusalem.  Thank you and the President for your great efforts to give this international recognition.  “Spread on us and on Jerusalem, Your city, the shelter of peace… May the Blessed be He pay your reward…May the Lord guard your going out and your coming in from now and to eternity.”

Interesting Facts

The Western Wall Plaza hosts approximately 60,000 people. It symbolizes the Jewish link to Jerusalem and serves as the synagogue closest to the remains of both Holy Temples.
The Western Wall's visible stones tell of its history from the time of the Holy Temples' ruin. The original Herodian stones are distinct from the others in size and in their unique borders.
The building style of "grading" used when layering the Western Wall's stones, teaches us that the Temple Mount's walls were not perpendicular but marginally sloping.
