Paraguay’s Vice President Visits the Western Wall: “At the Western Wall, We Pledge to Continue Supporting the People and State of Israel”
During his official visit to Israel, Paraguay’s Vice President, Pedro Alliana, arrived at the Western Wall earlier today for a visit and prayer, accompanied by Paraguay’s Ambassador to Israel, Alejandro Rubin Zimmerman.
He was welcomed by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, who told him about the history of the Western Wall and its significance to the Jewish people throughout the generations. Rabbi Rabinowitz thanked the vice president and the Paraguayan leadership for their steadfast support of the State of Israel and the Jewish people throughout the war.
The rabbi joined the vice president in prayer, after which the vice president placed a personal note between the stones of the Western Wall.
At the conclusion of his visit, the vice president wrote in the visitors’ book: “At the Western Wall, we pledge to continue supporting the people and State of Israel – with great love for a people that knows how to stand by its principles and fight for what is right!”
