German Member of Parliament Stephan Mayer at the Western Wall: “I wish the Jewish people internal unity, peace and security.”
As part of his visit to Israel for the Maccabiah Games, German Member of Parliament Stephan Mayer visited the Western Wall for a tour and prayer.
During the visit, Mayer met with the rabbi of the Western Wall and the holy sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who thanked him for his steadfast support of the State of Israel and the Jewish people.
The member of parliament received an overview of the Western Wall’s thousands of years of history and its significance as the holiest site where Jews can pray, serving as a place of prayer, hope and longing throughout the generations. He then offered a personal prayer beside the ancient stones of the Western Wall.
At the conclusion of his visit, he said:
“I am here in Israel for the Maccabiah. It is a great joy and honor for me to be here. I wish the Jewish people all the best for the future – especially internal unity – as well as peace and security for Israel and the entire region.”
