As part of their official visit to Israel, a senior Romanian delegation came for a visit and prayer at the Western Wall. The delegation was led by President of the Chamber of Deputies Sorin Grindeanu, Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete, Member of Chamber of Deputies Silviu Vexler, who heads the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania, along with additional senior members of the Romanian chamber of deputies.
The delegation was greeted by the rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who expressed his deep gratitude to the Romanian government for its strong friendship and its clear support for the State of Israel.
During the visit, the rabbi of the Western Wall joined the speaker of the chamber of deputies and the members of the delegation in a prayer for peace among the nations. The delegation placed prayer notes between the stones of the Wall and toured various sites in the Western Wall Tunnels, including the newly opened Gateway of Heaven multimedia exhibit.
At the conclusion of the visit, the speaker of the chamber of deputies signed the visitors’ book, writing: “It is a privilege for me to be here today. History and faith come together here in a perfect way. We all seek peace and health. I wish the people of Israel tranquility, well-being, peace and prosperity.”
