“Go, gather all the Jews” – Taanit Esther in the shadow of the Iron Swords War

On Thursday, Taanit (the fast of) Esther, the 11th of Adar II, March 21, 2024 at 5:30 pm Israel time- a special prayer assembly and a mass recitation of the Shema Yisrael will be held at the Western Wall, as Jews from all over the world unite in reciting the Shema Yisrael for the return of the hostages to their homes and for the well-being of the IDF soldiers.

The assembly will be attended by representatives of the families of the hostages and missing, along with many others who will gather as one – with one heart – to arouse heavenly mercy for the cancellation of the decrees hanging over Israel.

During the prayer assembly, chapters of Psalms will be recited, along with a special prayer for the return of the hostages. At its peak, we will together receive the “yoke of the kingdom of heaven” with the recitation of the Shema Yisrael.

The prayer assembly will be broadcast live to tens of thousands of people in Israel and around the world, in collaboration with Jewish communities worldwide, who will also participate in the recitation of the Shema Yisrael simultaneously with the prayer at the Western Wall. This will take place in dozens of different locations so that every Jew wherever they may be can join and participate in it from wherever they are.
