120 Holocaust survivors, among them – survivors rescued from Ukraine during the war, lighting the candles for the 5th night of Chanuka at the Western Wall, in the shadow of the Iron Swords War

This evening (Monday), the lighting of the fifth Chanuka candle took place in the presence of Rabbi Yehuda Deri, the rabbi of Be’er Sheva, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, Rabbi Michael Malkieli, minister for religious services, Suli Eliav, director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Ziona Koenig-Yair, deputy president of the Israel Claims Conference, Greg Schneider, director of the Claims Conference, Chairman of the Center for Organizations of Holocaust Survivors in Israel Mrs. Colette Avital and 120 Holocaust survivors.

Among the Holocaust survivors who attended this evening were individuals liberated from Ukraine during the war and later immigrated to Israel. In the shadow of the “Iron Swords” war, they chose to come and light the fifth Chanuka candle at the Western Wall.
