In the presence of dozens of families and representatives on behalf of the captives: A prayer for the return of the captives was held this evening at the Western Wall Plaza.
“Here, at the Western Wall, you chose to begin a journey of light. A light that will conquer the darkness.”

Hundreds gathered this evening at the Western Wall Plaza for a prayer rally for the speedy return of the captives and the missing to their homes in peace.
The prayer was attended by tens of families of the captives and hundreds of participants from all over the country and various segments of Israeli society who came to support the families and join them in prayer.

The event began with the recitation of Psalms by a representative of the families of the captives, Kobi Ben Ami, the brother of Ohad and brother-in-law of Raz, who were kidnapped from their home in Kibbutz Be’eri. The Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, recited a prayer for the return of the captives and the missing to their homes in peace. The event was accompanied by emotional singing by dozens of young people singing ‘Our brothers, all of the House of Israel.’

Sigi Cohen, the representative of the families, and the mother of Eliyah Cohen, who was kidnapped from the party in Re’im, lit the ‘Flame of Life’ that will accompany the families on their journey until the safe return of all the captives.

The Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, said: “Dear families, you have chosen to come here, to the Western Wall, to start a journey of light. A light that will conquer the darkness. I want to tell you that you are not alone. Here at the Western Wall, we are never alone. Here, we are part of the great fabric called the People of Israel. In every corner of the world. In every country. The eyes of all Jews are directed here, to the Western Wall, and all hearts pray with you. Tonight, you say here at the Wall, ‘Let there be light.’ And with the help of God, very soon, the light will shine upon us. A new light will shine from Zion, and we will all merit its light soon. We love you. We embrace you. We pray with you. We are with you – tonight and every day until the children, the parents, the sisters and brothers, the grandparents return to their borders.”
