For the First Time: 45 girls and boys, children of IDF disabled veterans, celebrate a moving bar/bat mitzvah at the Western Wall

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation, the Rehabilitation Branch of the Ministry of Defense, and the IDF Disabled Veterans Association hosted today, for the first time, dozens of children of IDF disabled veterans in honor of their children’s bar/bat mitzvah.

This morning (Monday), 45 children of IDF disabled veterans came with their families to celebrate a moving bar/bat mitzvah. The celebration began with fascinating and accessible tours of the new Tunnels route, the new Chain of Generations Center, and the virtual-reality experience, A Look into the Past. Afterwards, the families proceeded to the Western Wall where they gathered for a festive and moving prayer service.

This beautiful initiative is expected to become a tradition so that all children of IDF disabled veterans come to the Western Wall to celebrate their bar/bat mitzvahs.
