Belated Bat Mitzvah for Holocaust survivor who immigrated from Iraq

We were happy to celebrate a belated bat mitzvah at the Western Wall for a Holocaust survivor, Mrs. Sarah Ovadia, who made aliya to Israel from Iraq after having suffered through the Farhud pogroms in Iraq.

 

Dozens of belated Bar/Bat Mitzvah events are prepared for and celebrated at the Western Wall for people with inspiring stories. But it is not every day that we get to accompany such a moving belated bat mitzvah at the Western Wall.
We were happy to celebrate a belated bat mitzvah at the Western Wall for a Holocaust survivor, Mrs. Sarah Ovadia, who made aliya to Israel from Iraq after having suffered through the Farhud pogroms in Iraq.
Sarah was blinded in both eyes but it was very clear that she was very moved by the celebration and by her visit to the Western Wall.
