Former Vice President of the United States, Mr. Mike Pence, came with his wife to pray at the Western Wall. They were greeted by the rabbi of the Western Wall, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav.
Mr. Pence prayed and place a note between the stones of the Wall. He noted that this was his sixth time at the Western Wall, and that he feels the holiness and sublimity of the site.
“Israel must be strong,” he said, “and that’s what we pray for.”

Prayers to the Western Wall from 140 countries: “For My House shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”
Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, in keeping with tradition: Prayer notes placed between the stones of the Western Wall over the past six months have been removed and transferred for ritual burial.
