Psalm Recital Project Opposite the Holy of Holies

Over 40,000 people from around the world asked to have names mentioned in prayer

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation is continuing with its initiative to benefit the public: a minyan (quorum) that recites the entire book of Psalms (Tehilim) daily at the synagogue opposite the Holy of Holies, for the welfare of the Jewish nation.

This project is generously supported by the Edmond J. Safra Foundation in memory of this generous and kind man, Mr. Edmond J. Safra, of blessed memory.  It is in response to the many requests that came to the office of the Rabbi of the Western Wall and to the offices of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation asking for names to be mentioned for prayer and redemption.

Since the inception of this initiative, over 40,000 people from around the world have been mentioned, including from countries without diplomatic relations with Israel.  For example, there was a recent request to pray for a senior doctor severely injured in Afghanistan in the U.S. war against the Islamic Taliban.  The doctor, an experienced surgeon, was there under the auspices of the United Nations to save the lives of citizens and children.  His name was given in for prayer for recovery.  We just recently received an update that his condition is quickly improving, and he is recovering better than all had hoped for, expected to make a complete recovery.

Recitation of Psalms daily for success and redemption allows those in distress who want someone to pray for them or their loved ones to turn to the offices of the Rabbi of the Western Wall or of the Foundation.  These names are given to the quorum who recites the book of Psalms daily from Sunday to Thursday.  They mention the name and the request at this holiest site of the remnant of our Temple at no cost.

Names for prayer can be faxed to 02-6273114 or emailed to [email protected]
