Goverment meeting in the Western Wall Tunnels

Prime Minister Netanyahu and Government Ministers Visit the Excavations under Wilsons Arch Prayer Hall

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and government ministers visited the Western Wall complex on Sunday, June 4th to see the discoveries uncovered in excavations conducted under the mens section in Wilsons Arch Prayer Hall.
The visit was part of a special government meeting that took place in the Beyond Our Wall hall in honor of the 50th anniversary of Jerusalems reunification and the return of the Jewish nation to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.
The government ministers came early in the day for a tour. The Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, and the Director of the Jerusalem region of the Israel Antiquities Authority, Mr. Yuval Baruch, presented the fascinating findings to the ministers.
Later, Prime Minister Netanyahu came and got an explanation as well. He remarked on the importance of continuing to excavate to reveal these treasures to make our past here known.
The government meeting took place after the Prime Ministers visit. At the beginning of the meeting, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, and Mr. Eliav surveyed the accomplishments of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation over the last few years.
