The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mr. Volodymyr Groysman, visited the Western Wall Plaza and the Western Wall Tunnels and was hosted by the Rabbi of the Western Wall, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav.
The Prime Minister, who is Jewish, was very moved by the visit, reciting a prayer and Psalms 121. After this, he tucked a note between the stones of the Wall.
The Prime Minister toured the Western Wall Tunnels and the archeological excavations uncovered this past year and was amazed at the historical treasures that reveals the Jewish nations rich history at this site. I tasted very little of our nations roots and hope to visit here again in the future, he said.
Among those receiving the Prime Minister was Rabbi Shmuel Kaminsky, the rabbi of Dnipropetrovsk, and Rabbi Moshe Hestman, the rabbi of Kiev. The Prime Minister was also accompanied by Ukraines Minister of Health and Minister of Culture, as well as the Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel.
