Mr. Grard Larcher, President of the Senate of France, visited the Western Wall and was received by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites.
Mr. Larcher could not hide how moved he was by the prayer and the visit to the site and expressed great interest in its Jewish history. He noted his friendship with the State of Israel and said that the visit to the Western Wall expressed his identification with spiritual values of the Jewish nation.
The Senate President asked to hold a prayer service in memory of the Jews murdered in the terrorist attack in Toulouse, and noted that he was close to their families. I sense the holiness that envelopes this place, and feel privileged to be praying here, said Larcher.
