The sixth candle of Chanukah was lit at the Western Wall Plaza in the presence of Rabbi Yehuda Deri, Rabbi of the City of Be’er Sheva; Rabbi David Azoulay, Minister of Religious Affairs; Mr. Mordeichai (Suli) Eliav, Director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation; and Mr. Shuki Damari, Chairman of the Religious Council of Be’er Sheva.
Prayers to the Western Wall from 140 countries: “For My House shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”
Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, in keeping with tradition: Prayer notes placed between the stones of the Western Wall over the past six months have been removed and transferred for ritual burial.
