“A Psalm of Thanksgiving”: Moving Thank-You Signs Placed at the Entrances to the Western Wall Plaza

Against the backdrop of the miracles that occurred for Israel during the “Rising Lion” war with Iran—which sought to destroy the Jewish people—signs bearing the chapter of Psalms known as “Mizmor LeTodah” (A Psalm of Thanksgiving) were placed at the entrances to the Western Wall Plaza. These signs invite visitors and worshippers to pause for a moment and recite words of gratitude to the Creator—whether through prayer or personal thought.

Signs were also placed within the prayer areas themselves, and the response has been significant: groups are spontaneously gathering to read aloud the words of the psalm:
“A Psalm of Thanksgiving: Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth… For the Lord is good, His kindness endures forever…”

According to the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, the initiative seeks to emphasize that the Western Wall is not only a place for requests and supplication, but also a place of unity, hope, and moments of thanksgiving and national strength.

As the last remnant of the Temple and the holiest national site for the Jewish people, the Western Wall continues to serve as a unifying meeting point for tens of thousands of visitors from Israel and around the world—especially at times when identity, faith, and resilience take on renewed meaning.
