The Incoming and Outgoing IDF Chiefs of Staff Pray at the Western Wall

As part of a longstanding tradition, the incoming 24th IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, and the outgoing Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, visited the Western Wall Plaza this morning (Wednesday) for prayer.

The prayer was attended by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the IDF Chief Rabbi, Brig. Gen. Rabbi Eyal Karim.

The Chiefs of Staff recited Psalms and prayed for the well-being of IDF soldiers and the security of the state, with a special prayer for the return of the hostages and missing persons.

At the conclusion of the joint prayer, both generals offered personal prayers and placed notes between the stones of the Wall. At the end of their visit, they signed the guest book of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.
