Due to the current situation and in light of the disasters that have befallen the people of Israel since the holiday of Simchat Torah on October 7th, thousands of women and mothers from all over the country, from the north to the south, gathered at the Western Wall Plaza on Monday evening for a communal prayer for the redemption and unity of the people of Israel.
The prayer rally was initiated by bereaved women who lost their loved ones both during the Iron Swords war and over past years. Among them were Linor Moshe, the wife of firefighter Ro’i Moshe, who fell in battle on October 7th; Kinneret Levi-Asor, the mother of Sahar and Maayan, who perished in the flood on the Arava Road; Nava Revivo, the mother of Amit Ben Yigal, a Golani reconnaissance unit soldier who fell in an operational activity; and Anat Meir, the wife of Major David Meir, a soldier in the Sayeret Matkal unit who fell in battle in Be’eri on October 7th.
The prayer rally, which was broadcast live to dozens of locations across the country, began with the recitation of Psalms led by cantors along with the thousands of attendees. This was followed by a special prayer for the hastening of redemption by the Or HaChaim, and concluded with the recitation of the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy and an emotional acceptance of the yoke of Heaven’s sovereignty for the unity of the people of Israel.
