“We came to strengthen but left strengthened” is a phrase realized at the Western Wall Plaza every day.

These days, we are meeting many families at the Western Wall who have lost their loved ones. Each meeting and conversation is unique, touching us to the depths of our souls.

The saying “We came to strengthen and left strengthened” is realized every day at the Western Wall in each encounter and conversation. This was also the case in a meeting with David Lubin, the father of Sgt. Rose Lubin, killed in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem just weeks after bravely fighting and defending the kibbutz where she lived on October 7th. David came to the Western Wall, the place his daughter defended, and with great emotion, he thanked the entire Israeli public for the warm embrace the family received and specifically thanked the residents of the Old City for the love and support they provided to Rose during her service in the city.

“These are hard time for everyone, this is the place where all Jews can unite and come together and we will succeed as a people,” he said.
We share in the family’s grief, embrace and strengthen them, and declare loudly – together we will prevail!
