Every year during the days of Selichot, we guide around 20,000 IDF soldiers in the enchanting atmosphere of Jerusalem during the evenings of Elul. We prepare for months in advance in collaboration with the IDF, training guides, musicians, designing routes, and setting up venues. We create content to open hearts and begin the new year positively!
In each and every training, year after year, the IDF representative emphasizes the important values of the IDF in these tours. More than anything else, he emphasizes that this Selichot tour might be the one that soldiers will remember before going into battle. Therefore, it’s crucial to be precise with every word, text, song, and liturgy because they make up the spiritual and moral strength for the IDF soldiers in the air, on land, and at sea.
This year was no different. Every evening, we met with soldiers from the Golani and Givatii brigades, the Air Force, and the Navy, and the Iron Dome units, and on some Selichot tours, we toured together with the heroic observers. We don’t know the impact these tours in Jerusalem left on them or what they took with them to the battlefield, but we do know the imprint they left on us as a people.
In the picture, you can see a tour with Iron Dome soldiers from a month and a half ago, three of whom fell in the Iron Swords war.
