For the third time: Governor of Iowa visits and prays at the Western Wall

Governor of Iowa, Ms. Kim Reynolds, arrived on Wednesday evening for her third visit to the Western Wall together with her family.

She was welcomed by the rabbi of the Western Wall and the holy sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who explained to her and her family the history of the place and the yearning of the Jewish people for their capital throughout the generations.

During the visit, the governor was moved about the IDF Air Force swearing-in ceremony taking place at the Western Wall Plaza at that time. She mentioned that this was her third visit to Israel and this time she brought her family to express support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

The Governor offered a personal prayer and placed a note between the stones of the Western Wall. Afterwards, she toured the new route in the Western Wall Tunnels known as “The Great Bridge.”

The message resonates today with the joy of those released from captivity — stepping once more into the paradise of freedom after deep suffering.
