The Western Wall Heritage Foundation following the government meeting in the Western Wall Tunnels With the help and support of the government, we will continue to deepen and expand the development of the Western Wall Plaza.
The Western Wall Heritage Foundation expresses its appreciation to the Prime Minister and ministers for holding an important, festive, and meaningful government meeting in the Western Wall complex in Jerusalem. By doing so, the government shows the Western Wall, the remnant of our holy Temple, as symbolizing a unifying site for every Jew in Israel and around the world.
The Foundation’s management expresses great admiration for the recognition and support of the government for the significant educational and archaeological activities taking place here. These activities reveal the deep connection between the Jewish people and their capital, Jerusalem, and the tremendous educational work that takes place here every day to upgrade infrastructure and encourage visits to the Western Wall Plaza.
The Foundation extends special appreciation to Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage, Rabbi Meir Porush, who initiated the government meeting at the Wall, as well as to Mayor Moshe Leon and the various government ministries that supported this decision.
Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, said, ‘The Western Wall is a source of inspiration and a gathering place for the Jewish people, and the Foundation, with the government’s assistance and support, intends to deepen and expand the educational efforts and heritage preservation. Anyone who comes to the Western Wall sees with their own eyes how this place breaks down barriers and connects different communities and streams. Everyone who comes witnesses how a Jew who enters the Wall leaves behind his affiliation with this or that faction and is filled with humility before this awe-inspiring place. How insignificant our disputes seem when we stand in prayer at the Wall. How much honor and splendor the ancient stones bestow upon us. We will continue to uphold its tradition, preserve its sanctity, and, above all, keep it as a unifying place for the Jewish nation.’
