Ten Thousands participated in the festive prayers at the Western Wall in honor of 55 years since Jerusalem’s reunification.

As the prayers began, a giant Israeli flag measuring 1,000 square meters was unfurled by the youth, for the second year. This is the largest flag ever unfurled in Jerusalem.

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation, the Jerusalem Municipality, the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage, and the Authority for the Development of Jerusalem held a festive prayer service tonight (Saturday night) in honor of 55 years since Jerusalem’s reunification, with the theme “Rejoice with Jerusalem, be glad with her, all who love her.”

The prayer service took place in the presence of the rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites – Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the mayor of Jerusalem – Mr. Moshe Lion, leaders of youth movements, and about 4,000 members of youth movements who came to the Western Wall on foot already throughout the afternoon.  The prayers were accompanied by musical artists Yishai Lapidot, Yitzchak Meir, and Chaim Yisrael.
