Festive Prayer
Eve of Jerusalem Day Prayers: The Western Wall Heritage Foundation, the Jerusalem Municipality, the Office for Jerusalem and Heritage, and the Authority for the Development of Jerusalem will hold a festive prayer service celebrating 55 years since the reunification of Jerusalem – on Saturday night, 27 Iyar, May 28, 2022.
When the service begins, members of various youth movements will unfurl the largest Israeli flag ever unfurled in Jerusalem (1,000 square meters!) across the upper plaza, with the theme of “Rejoice with Jerusalem, be glad with her, all who love her.”
In the Presence Of:
The rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz; the mayor of Jerusalem, Mr. Moshe Leon; leaders of youth movements and thousands of youth who will arrive at the Western Wall by foot throughout the afternoon.
When?
8:40pm Maariv, Havdala, the unfurling of the big flag
Artists Yishai Lapidot, Yitzchak Meir, and Chaim Yisrael will accompany the conclusion of the service in song and joy.
The Light Rail will operate all night long!
The Flag Parade
Motzaei Jerusalem Day (Sunday evening): The traditional Flag Parade and Dance will take place on Sunday, 28 Iyar, May 29, 2022, beginning at 7pm, in the presence of rabbis and public figures.
Due to the Flag Procession on May 29th – There will be changes to the train schedule.
On Jerusalem Day, 28 Iyar, 5782 (May 29, 2022), the flag parade will take place between 4:45pm and 9pm.In accordance with police directives, there will be no train service between the Central Bus Station and the Ammunition Hill station.
Therefore, the Cfir Light Rail will operate as follows:
From the Mount Herzl station to the Central Bus Station in both directions
From the Air Force station to the Ammunition Hill station in both directions
When the parade is over and the police gives its permission, the Light Rail will resume full operations throughout the line.
