George Bush visited the Western Wall

George Bush  The Grandson of the 41st President of the United States  visited the Western Wall

While thousands of worshippers and visitors marked the fast of Tisha BAv at the Western Wall, Mr. George Bush came to visit the remnant of our Temple.  Mr. Bush is the son of Jeb Bush, the 43rd governor of Florida, and the grandson of President George Bush.  His uncle, George W. Bush, was the 43rd president of the United States.

Mr. Bush prayed near the stones of the Western Wall along with the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz.  Afterwards, he placed a note between the stones of the Wall and toured the Western Wall Tunnels.

At the time, the Western Wall Plaza was full of people mourning the destruction of the Temple.  Bush noted that he shares in the sorrow of the Jewish nation as it mourns.

I sense the power of this sacred site, and it is an honor and pleasure to be here, said Bush.

During the tour of the Western Wall Tunnels, Bush heard about the extensive history of the Jewish nation in Jerusalem and showed great interest in the sites archeological findings.
