The custom of Sephardic Jewish communities is to begin reciting the Selichot prayers from the start of the month of Elul, which is on 25/08/2025 this year, until the eve of Yom Kippur, which is on 01/10/2025 this year.

The text of the Selichot prayers


Public Transportation Services during the Selichot Period

For the convenience of worshippers and visitors to the Western Wall, the Ministry of Transportation and the National Public Transport Authority are operating enhanced transportation services throughout the Selichot period (August 25 – September 25, 2025):

  • Lines 1 and 3 – will operate with special reinforcements during the night. According to Moovit, Line 3 runs until 02:30 at night.

  • Line 333 – a special line from Ramot Junction to the Western Wall, operating between 22:00–02:00.
