Liron Snir, HY”D
Born: 19th of Kislev, 5758 (December 17, 1997)
Fell: 9th of Kislev, 5784 (November 21, 2023)

Liron was born to his parents, Mordechai and Pazit Snir, grew up and was educated at the “Nachalat Binyamin” elementary school in Ofra, and the “Hispin” high school in the Golan Heights.

His friends and family recount about him: that he was a very modest and humble child, always cared for others, made sure to uplift the spirits of the weak, and befriend anyone he met. Since he was young, he set goals for himself and implemented them.

Upon reaching conscription age, Liron enlisted in the Golani Brigade, where he advanced to an officer’s course and later was appointed as a team leader commanding experienced combatants.

Liron had a special connection with the Western Wall. Since his first laying of tefillin ceremony held at the Wall, he would always come to pray here. He was very moved by his swearing-in ceremony at the Wall and later on at ceremonies of the soldiers under his command.

On the 7th of October, Liron rushed south to prepare for the ground incursion. Throughout the waiting period before entering Gaza, he pressured his brigade commander to allow him to join the fighting. After several days of battle in Zitoun, Liron fell in combat ten days before his birthday.

Two days before entering the ground incursion, he wrote a testament, which was found after he fell in battle: “We must remember to be noble, to love life, and always add good to the world… to be good, that’s the aspiration! It doesn’t cost us anything to be good and do good.”

At the age of 25, he fell, leaving behind parents and two brothers.
May his memory be a blessing.
