Soldiers of Battalion 8208, whose comrades fell during operational activity in Gaza, arrived to refresh themselves at the Western Wall.
“We came to draw strength and energy, to connect to the roots and tradition of the Jewish people, and we leave here recharged and strong.” Watch the moving words of the reservist soldiers from Battalion 8208 of Division 261 who came directly from security missions in the Gaza periphery, following the tragic incident two weeks ago, in which 21 of their best soldiers fell during operational activity in the southern strip.
As the reserve rotation nears its end, after over a hundred days of combat, soldiers and commanders of the battalion arrived at a “Heritage Day” for refreshment and respite at the Western Wall, warmly welcomed by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation. They met with Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz and the director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, who blessed and thanked them for their tremendous contribution to the country and the defense of Israel.
During their visit, they prayed for the success of the war and expressed gratitude for the miracle that spared them and kept them alive. They also toured various sites in the Western Wall Tunnels.
