Thirty five Thousand Participated tonight in the Central Selichot (Penitential Prayers)

Over thirty five-thousand people came all along the night to say selichot (Penitential Prayers) at the Western Wall Plaza.
Another central selichot service will take place this Saturday night at 12:15am (Israel time) accompanied by a cantor and with amplification for the general public. The additional services are meant to spread the crowds and allow as many people as possible to safely attend selichot throughout the High Holiday season.

The selichot services will be broadcast live on the Western Wall Foundation website to enable those unable to be present at the Western Wall to participate in this moving event. www.thekotel.org
Please note! Entrances to the Old City and the Western Wall will be closed if there are crowds.
The public is requested to abide by the Israel Police and the ushers’ directions for the safety of all who come to the Western Wall.
The Old City will be closed to private cars throughout the holiday. Please use public transportation.
