When a person or a nation seeks to make a decision, one of the essential capabilities required is broad vision – the ability to look at everything seemingly “from above,” to gain a wide perspective on reality, and from that, understand the situation in order to draw conclusions about future conduct.
The Jewish nation has always looked at the historical map of our people and humanity, carrying with us the memory of past days – a kind of map of human events – and learned from it how to take the next step.
Before you is a map of the recent disaster that befell us on October 7th, allowing you to see the event from a wide perspective. On the map, you can see that on the morning of Simchat Torah, it was not an isolated incident but the well-planned opening of a comprehensive war along our entire border with the Gaza Strip!
We hope that this will help us grow, understand what we need to do so that such an event will never happen again, strengthen our faith, unity, and understanding of the enemy we are dealing with, and to take the necessary steps to counter it and ensure our security.
