Former President of France, Mr. Nicolas Sarközy, came with his wife and daughter for a visit to the Western Wall. They were greeted by the rabbi of the Western Wall, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, who prayed a personal prayer with them and explained the significance of the site and the yearnings for Jerusalem throughout the generations.
Mr. Sarkozy and his wife placed notes between the stones of the Western Wall and then toured the Western Wall Tunnels where they were amazed by the history and displayed extensive knowledge of the site. They noted their excitement about being at this moving location and expressed their deep friendship with Israel.
