Praying for his nation’s welfare and for strengthening the friendship between the countries: The Foreign Minister of South Sudan visited the Western Wall
As part of his official visit to Israel, the Foreign Minister of South Sudan, Mr. Monday Semaya Kenneth Kumba, visited the Western Wall Plaza.
He was received by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who gave the minister an overview of the spiritual and historical significance of this holy site for the Jewish people—a place of prayer, hope, and yearning throughout the generations.
During the visit, the minister asked the rabbi to offer a prayer for the welfare of South Sudan, for the unity of its people, for the country’s economic prosperity, and for strengthening the ties and friendship between South Sudan and Israel and the Jewish people.
At the end of the visit, the minister offered a silent prayer beside the stones of the Wall, wrote a personal note, and placed it between the stones.
